Cougars Trade Tyler Mrkonjic to the Calgary Hitmen

Prince George, B.C. - Prince George Cougars General Manager, Todd Harkins announced today that the Prince George Cougars have traded 1996-born forward Tyler Mrkonjic (St. Albert, AB) to the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for a sixth round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

Mrkonjic was originally acquired by the Prince George Cougars in the summer of 2013 in a trade with the Tri-City Americans. Since then, Mrkonjic dressed in 154 career regular season games with the Cougars. He scored 13 goals, 21 assists and 71 penalty minutes.

"We are very appreciative of Tyler and his family for their contributions that they made both on and off the ice in Prince George," said Prince George Cougars General Manager, Todd Harkins. "We wish Tyler all of the best during this next chapter of his life. We hope that being closer to home will benefit him personally and academically."

The Prince George Cougars will return to action this weekend on Friday night when they welcome the Edmonton Oil Kings to town. Friday's game is Heroes Night at the CN Centre and some great seats still remain for the third Feature Game of the 2015-16 Cougars season.
