Prince George Cougars News Release

PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars, along with the Canadian Hockey League, have teamed up with the Canadian Lung Association for the 2007 Christmas Seal Campaign.

For over 100 years, families across Canada have made Christmas Seals donations part of their Christmas celebrations. Money raised from Christmas Seals go straight into programs that fund research, provide care to the ill, support advocacy at various government levels, deliver needed information to the public, and support care deliverers such as thoracic surgeons and respiratory therapists.

The 2007 Christmas Seal will feature a specially commissioned painting by Shirley Deaville, one of Canada's foremost sports painters. This year's Seal is a beautiful illustration of children excitedly getting ready for a game of shinny on a newly-shoveled frozen pond. The painting will also showcase one child in a Prince George Cougars jersey. Every year, over 5 million Canadian households receive Christmas Seals and will be familiar with this wonderful painting.

Framed - 25" x 29" prints are available for $149.95, while unframed images- 16" x 20" can be purchased for $99.95. To view the limited edition prints or place an order, please visit the Cougars merchandise store at their office.

For each limited edition Cougars print that is sold, the Canadian Lung Association will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Cougars Education Fund.

The limited art prints are also being sold online through the Lung Association's e-commerce system at www.lung.ca .
