Bruins Top Tips 2-1

November 15, 2007 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Chilliwack Bruins News Release

Everett WA - November 14, 2007: The Chilliwack Bruins played one of their best road games in their short history, limiting the Everett Silvertips to just 20 shots in a 2-1 shoot out victory. The game was scoreless thru two periods, and then Kyle Beach scored a goal from the corner that may have deflected off a Bruin defenseman. Late in the third period, Oscar Moller took a pass from Mark Santorelli, looked forehand, then spun 180 degrees inside to his back hand, beating a stunned Irving to tie the game. Evan Pighin also earned an assist and the game was tied after regulation.

Overtime solved nothing, so the teams went to the shootout. After a Kyle Beach miss, Jadon Potter scored thru the legs of Irving to give the Bruins an early lead. Shane Harper of the Tips was then robbed by the left pad of Bruins keeper Matt Esposito, before Oscar Moller was stopped by Irving. Zach Hamill then knotted the game up, beating ESPO glove side before Nick Holden beat Irving on a nifty deke to close out the shootout.

The Bruins next game will be on Friday night, as they travel to Vancouver to take on the Giants. Next Bruins home game will be on Saturday against the Kamloops Blazers, game time at 7 pm followed by a Sunday rematch against the Silvertips, please note the start time has been moved to 7 pm so that Bruins fans can take in the BC Lions game before heading to Prospera Centre for the Bruins-Tips tilt.
