Kane County Cougars News Release
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - For the first time since joining the American Association, the Kane County Cougars are heading to the playoffs. Tonight's 6-2 win against the Milwaukee Milkmen combined with Chicago's 6-2 win over Gary produced the Cougars' first ever playoff berth. The Cougars are now 48-44 this season, with four road games and four home games left on the year.
The last time the Cougars made the playoffs was in 2019 as a member of the Midwest League. In 2014, the Cougars won the Midwest League Championship as the Single-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. That team won a total of 98 games, including a sweep of the entire postseason 7-0. Since 2014, the Cougars are 0-6 in playoff games.
Manager George Tsamis is now 87-94 as the Cougars' skipper over the past two seasons. Tsamis continues to be the winningest manager in American Association history.
With eight games left on the regular season, playoff seeding has yet to be determined in the East Division of the league. Once playoffs are finalized, tickets can be purchased by calling 630-232-8811 or by visiting kccougars.com.
