Rockford Aviators News Release
LOVES PARK - The Normal CornBelters once again staged a comeback win Saturday night at the Aviators Stadium, downing the Aviators 7-5. Michael Hur and Justin Fox each had 3 hits in the game.
The CornBelters put up a pair off Aves starter Payton Baskette in the 2nd on a homerun by Richard Lucas, but the Aviator offense quickly erased the deficit. Dusty Robinson had an RBI triple in the bottom half of the frame, and Justin Fox drove in a run with a single of his own to make it 2-2.
The Belters posted 2 more in the 4th off Baskette, but once again the Aviators got the bats going against Normal starter Robert Baroniel. Fox and Hur each doubled, driving in all 3 runs to make it a 5-4 Rockford lead.
The Belters tied it on a HR by Ozney Guillen in the 6th and then got an unearned run off Matt Frahm in the 8th to get out to the advantage. They would add another on a solo HR by Patrick McKenna in the ninth.
Aviator bats fell quiet against Belter relievers. The bullpen for the visitors took over in the 5th and held the Aviators off the board the rest of the way.
Start time for the series finale tomorrow is 3:05. Families can play catch on the field from 2:00 to 2:30 and kids are welcome to run the bases after the action for the final time in 2015.
