
Cornbelters rally late for 12-4 win

(EVANSVILLE, Ind.) - The Normal Cornbelters pulled away late for a 12-4 win against the Evansville Otters on Sunday afternoon.
Last night's hero Derek Wiley singled in the first run of the game but Normal rallied back for a pair of runs in the 4th inning.
The see-saw game continued with Evansville tying the game on an RBI single from Greg Alexander in the 5th but Normal re-gaining the lead 4-2 in the very next inning.
The Otters again pulled within a run but it was Normal who surged away down the stretch with eight runs over the final two innings of baseball.
Normal wins 12-4 as Dan Blewett (6-7) is credited with the win. The right-hander allowed just three runs in his six innings of work as Chris Peters (2-11) receives the loss for the Otters. The Quincy, Illinois native yielded four runs (two earned) in 5 1/3 innings during the last home game of the season at Bosse Field.
Normal wins the series and improves to 41-49 this year as Evansville is 35-53.
The Evansville Otters are on the road the rest of the season beginning with a three game series at Southern Illinois. First pitch is set for 7:05 PM CDT at Rent One Park on Monday night.
