Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) - The Sugar Land Space Cowboys returned from hitter-friendly Albuquerque Tuesday night, beginning a six-game homestand at Constellation Field.

It was more of the same, though, for Space Cowboys outfielder Corey Julks.

Julks homered for the fifth time in his last six games as the Space Cowboys dropped the opener of a three-game set vs. the Round Rock Express, 5-2. Julks' five May home runs are tied for the most in the Pacific Coast League.

Over his last six games, Julks has hit .385 (10x26) with a double and six RBI, to go with the five home runs.

Alex De Goti also delivered a solo home run in the loss, which was his fourth of the season. He's hit .417 (10x24) with two doubles, three home runs and five RBI over his last six games.

Shawn Dubin pitched directly in relief of starter Peter Solomon, striking out five batters through three scoreless and hitless innings. Nick Hernandez and Zac Rosscup pitched scoreless innings of relief as well. Dubin has struck out 23 batters through 15 1/3 innings this year.

Matt Carpenter led the Round Rock offense, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.

The Space Cowboys and Express continue their three-game series at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday at Constellation Field. Jonathan Bermudez is set to start for Sugar Land, with Round Rock scheduled to start Kolby Allard.
