Condors Add G Ryan Nie

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, proud ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have signed G Ryan Nie (NIGH), as announced by Head Coach Marty Raymond. To make room on the roster, G Joey Perricone has been released.

ryan nie old headshotNie, 23, most recently was with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. He originally signed with the Fresno Falcons in September but did not play with them during the regular season. In 2007-08, the Nanticoke, Ontario, native backstopped the Johnstown Chiefs, appearing in 49 games and putting up a 29-12-4 record. He recorded a 2.80 goals against average (GAA) and a .903 save percentage with Johnstown. He also made one appearance in the American Hockey League, surrendering two goals in 43 minutes with the Providence Bruins.

In his rookie season in 2006-07, Nie had a 2.02 GAA and .929 save percentage with Kalamazoo in the United Hockey League, with seven shutouts. Prior to turning pro, he played three full seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, primarily with the Plymouth Whalers.

Perricone appeared in two games with Bakersfield with one start, a 3-2 loss on the road against Fresno.
