Spokane Chiefs News Release
The Spokane Chiefs have reassigned 16-year-old forward Seth Compton to the Spokane Braves of the KIJHL. Compton had appeared in four games this season with no points and two penalty minutes. The West Richland, Washington native was the Chiefs fifth round selection in the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft. Last season as a Brave Compton scored 16 goals and 42 points in 45 games.
The roster move leaves the Chiefs with 22 players, including two goaltenders, seven defenseman and 13 forwards. By age, the Chiefs have three 20-year-olds, three 19-year-olds, seven 18-year-olds, six 17-year-olds and three 16-year-olds. Spokane is now carrying nine rookies.
The Chiefs will host the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday night in the Spokane Arena as Classy 99.9 will help celebrate Halloween. Chiefs fans are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costumes for the chance to win prizes. Candy will also be available for the youngsters who come in costumes.
The meeting will be the first of nine this season. The Chiefs won six of eight games last season versus Seattle, going 3-1 in Spokane and Seattle. Jim Watt posted a 2.01 GAA and .943 save percentage shutting out the Thunderbirds once on his way to four shutouts, the single season franchise record.
Tickets are available for Friday night at the Chiefs office by calling (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE FOR TUESDAY, 10/26
