Blazers add Irwin

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have added 17-year-old forward Tanner Irwin (Winnipeg, MB) to their 50-player list and Irwin will be placed on the team's active roster.

Irwin, a 6' 1", 190 pound left winger, started the season with the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, scoring 1 goal and adding 2 assists, to go along with 27 penalty minutes, in 12 games. Last season, Irwin played for the Winnipeg Midget "AAA" Thrashers, scoring 10 goals and 15 assists in 40 games for the runners-up for the Manitoba midget title.

Irwin, originally a 6th round bantam selection of the Kelowna Rockets in 2002, will practice with the Blazers on Tuesday afternoon.

The Blazer roster now stands at 24 players (13 forwards, 9 defensemen, 2 goaltenders).
