La Crosse, WI - June 19th, 2011 - A pair of two-out RBI in the eighth inning by Duncan McAlpine and Phillip Ervin completed the Bullfrogs 3-2 comeback win in La Crosse on Sunday against the Loggers to split the two-game series.

In the eighth the 'Frogs were down 2-1 when the Loggers brought in their best arm out of the bullpen in All-American Micheal Schum who had allowed just one run in 10 innings before Sunday evening. Schum entered with one out in the eighth. David Popkins hit an infield single. After a strikeout, Duncan McAlpine drove a liner to the left centerfield wall to drive Popkins in from first. Phillip Ervin drove in the game-winner with a single to score McAlpine to give Green Bay the 3-2 lead. John Colella entered the game in the bottom of the eighth and struck out five in the two inning save. It was his fourth save of the year to tie for the Northwoods League lead.

The Loggers took the lead against starter Austin Blaski in the fifth inning. Blaski had entered the game with just one walk in the first two starts of the season, but walked three in the fifth. The third walk was on a 3-2 count with the bases loaded when a fastball just missed the outside corner. It was a borderline call that could have gone either way and tied the game at one. The next hitter grounded to shortstop Alec Mehrten who miss played the ball and allowed the go-ahead run to score.

The 'Frogs scored first on a bases loaded walk of their own in the fourth. Green Bay had runners in scoring position in three of the first four innings including the fourth in which the Bullfrogs loaded the bases with no outs. After a pop out and a strike out, Green Bay scored on Mehrten's walk on a 3-2 count.

Austin Blaski started for Green Bay. He went 4.2 innings allowing two runs, one earned while striking out three and walking a season-high four batters in the no decision. Kyle Linquist earned the win. He entered with two runners on in the sixth but he did not allow a hit in his 1.2 innings.

Green Bay split the two-game series with the Loggers. They are 2-1 on the seven-game road trip as they head to Eau Claire for a three-game set on Monday against the Express with Josh Martin on the mound.
