Peterborough Petes News Release

(Peterborough, ON) - The Petes moved to 4-2 on the season on Saturday afternoon after losing to the East Division rival Hamilton Bulldogs. Hamilton is the only team to have beaten the mighty maroon and white this season, also winning last Saturday at the PMC.

The Bulldogs scored three straight goals in the second period to open up a wide lead, beating Hunter Jones who was making his sixth straight start this season between the pipes for the Petes. The Brantford, Ontario native made 32 saves on the game for the Petes.

Peterborough native Josh Wainman played his second game with the Bulldogs after being acquired from Erie on Friday. He had an assist on Hamilton's second goal.

In the third period, fellow local boy Matt McNamara scored his first goal of the season, while 16-year-old rookie Cam Butler scored his third goal of the season, putting him in a tie for second place among rookies in OHL goal scoring.

Petes forwards John Parker-Jones and Nick Robertson were both scratched due to injury, and were missed on the powerplay, which went 0/4 on the afternoon.

The Petes are now in second place in the Eastern Conference, and sit atop the East Division.

The Petes now travel to North Bay to go to war with the Battalion on Monday, October 8 at 2pm. They'll be back at the PMC for a home stand on Thursday, October 11 and Saturday, October 13 to host the Erie Otters and Windsor Spitfires, respectively. Tickets are available at the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office in-person, online, or over the phone at (705) 743-3561.

Hungry fans should also get their tickets while supplies last for the all-you-can-eat Petesa Party on Friday, October 12. Tickets start at just $5, with proceeds supporting the Petes Education Fund and Roger Neilson House.
