Comeback Completed As Cutters Walk Off Scrappers

Using a three-run 9th inning, the Crosscutters benefited from a throwing error to see the winning run cross in their 5-4 walk off victory over Mahoning Valley.

Dusty Stroup led the Cutters offense with a 3-for-4 effort, including a RBI single in the bottom of the 9th. Isaac Nunez also recorded a multi-hit night, going 2-for-4, with a 9th inning infield single.

Max Loven earned his first win of the season, working 1.1 innings. Loven entered in the top of the 8th inning with the bases loaded, and was able to get the final out of the frame. He worked a perfect inning in the top of the 9th.

The Crosscutters pitching staff was able to strand 14 Scrappers runners in the win. The Bullpen surrendered one run over six innings to keep the offense in the game.

Stroup's three-hit night was the first for a Cutters at home since May 31st against the Trenton Thunder when Noah Hemphill finished 3-for-4. It was the 11th three-hit game by a Crosscutter this season.

Tonight's match up was the first between the Scrappers and the Crosscutters this season. They will play seven more times this season, with four being played in Williamsport.
