San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---C.J. Beatty hit a game-winning single to cap off a three run bottom of the ninth for the Colts, as San Angelo moved back into first place in the South Division with a 14-13 walk-off win over the Rio Grande Valley White Wings Sunday night at Foster Field.

With the White Wings up 1-0 in the bottom of the first, RBI singles by Daryl Jones, Brian Nichols and Landon Camp put the Colts in front 3-1. Rio got it within one in the third and then in fourth inning exploded for three runs. A two-out rally that featured RBI basehits off the bats of Wilmer Pino, David Peralta and Leivi Ventura gave the White Wings a 5-3 lead.

The Colts rallied for five runs in the fourth on a two-run homer from Ronnie Gaines (24) and a three run blast from Camp (23) to give San Angelo an 8-5 lead. But with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, Colts starter Logan Williamson was chased from the game and Corey Goudeau came on for the seventh. Goudeau gave up two runs to put Rio up one.

Nichols (9) led off the Colts seventh with a home run and Clay Calfee (11) went opposite field for a two-run shot, and it was San Angelo back in front 11-9. A run for Rio in the eighth made it a one run game going into the ninth.

Ventura (19) hit a three-run home run in the top of the ninth for the second straight night to give the White Wings a two run lead, but the Colts scored three in the bottom of the inning for the win.

San Angelo closer Sean Kramer (3-5, 8.03) picked up the win, while Julio Santana (4-6, 5.60) took the walk-off loss.
