San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, Texas - The San Angelo Colts announced Friday they have traded outfielder Mike Mobbs to the Wichita Wingnuts of the independent American Association in exchange for future considerations. Manager Doc Edwards also activated pitcher Kristian Bueno, and he will make his second start of the year this weekend.
Mobbs was among the United League leaders in batting average (.388), hits (31), and runs scored (18). His .388 average was also second highest on the Colts, behind only centerfielder Oscar Garcia (.395). Mobbs also had a team-best, 13-game hit streak from May 29 through June 11.
Mobbs hit .388 with two home runs and 12 RBIs in 19 games for San Angelo. He will make his Wingnuts debut tonight when they face the St. Paul Saints in a doubleheader.
Mobbs, 24, is in his third professional season. He has a career .298 batting average with nine home runs and 50 RBIs in 104 games.
Bueno went on the Inactive List on June 6, and missed two scheduled starts. The 24-year-old lefty pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings in his only start of the year on May 28. Bueno is now scheduled to pitch game two of San Angelo's four-game series against the Alexandria Aces.
The Colts begin their series with the Aces tonight at Foster Field. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and gates open at 6:05 p.m.
