Colts Give Thunder Triple Dose of Vitamin "C"

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts make it five in a row, as they route McAllen Friday night at Foster Field 10-3. The high scoring affair was courtesy of the hitting of Jason Crosland and Trey Carter, as well as the arm of righty Alex Casillas. Ronnie Gaines also back in the swing of things with four hits on the night.

Third baseman Jason Crosland (2) kicked off the firework festivities early as he went yard in the bottom of the second inning. Colts left-handed hitting catcher Trey Carter (5) followed Crosland and sent out a rocket of his own. For the second time in five days the Colts sent out back-to-back long balls. Ronnie Gaines was back on track as he was a triple shy of the cycle. Gaines had two doubles on the evening (second and fifth innings), a homerun in the fourth, and a single in the seventh. Gaines drove in six of the Colts ten runs.

Colts righty Alex Casillas (2-0, 5.51) recorded his second win of the season. Casillas put in seven innings of work on the hill Friday night giving up two runs on five hits and five strikeouts. Thunder right-hander Justin Jordan (1-6, 7.12) picked up his sixth loss of the year going four innings giving up seven runs on nine hits and recording five strikeouts

Tomorrow, Colts right-hander Gorman Romero (3-0, 5.11 ERA) will look to stay undefeated as his counter-part Thunder righty Shawn Wilyman (0-1, 4.85 ERA).Saturday night the Colts go for their sixth win in a row as they look to sweep the Thunder to close out the home stand. Make sure to stick around after the game as Ocean Water Pools sponsors the first firework show of the Fourth of July weekend in San Angelo.
