Fort Worth Cats News Release

San Angelo, Texas --- The Colts pummeled the Fort Worth Cats, 11-1, Friday night at Foster Field to split the four-game series.

Starter Logan Williamson (6-1) was phenomenal once again, allowing just one run on six hits in in eight innings. He struck out a game-high seven batters. Williamson leads the team in wins.

After being held scoreless through the first two innings, the Colts exploded on offense. They scored two runs in the third and then five in the fourth. San Angelo sent 10 men to the plate, as right fielder J.J. Sherrill, third baseman Jason Crosland and second baseman Ryan Hutson all drove in runs.

Ahead 7-0, the Colts tacked on two more runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Fort Worth's lone run came in the eighth. Third baseman Jon Dziomba had an RBI ground out that scored right fielder Chuck Caufield.

Cats' starter Steve Barnes (4-4) took the loss, surrendering seven runs, five earned, in just 3 1/3 innings. Fort Worth's bullpen fared little better, allowing four runs on nine hits in the final 4 2/3 innings.

The win improves San Angelo to 25-28, while the loss drops Fort Worth to 30-22. These two clubs begin a three-game series at LaGrave Field Saturday evening. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
