ABILENE, TX - The Abilene Prairie Dogs have signed former San Angelo Colt Davis Page. To make room on the roster, the Dogs moved Zach Welch to the inactive list.

In 47 at-bats with the Colts this season, Page batted .234 with a home run and four R.B.I.s. In his first game of the season - on May 29 against Abilene - Page went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored. In 135 at-bats with the Colts in 2011, the right-handed batter slugged four homers, drove in 14 runs and hit .259.

Welch became the team's starting catcher after Jessie Mier went down with a broken hand on June 5. Since taking over as the everyday catcher, Welch batted .311 with two doubles and nine R.B.I.s. Over the course of his four professional seasons, Welch, 25, is a career .298 hitter with one home run, eight doubles, and 50 R.B.I.s

On Saturday night, the first 1,000 Prairie Dogs fans through the gates will receive a glow-in-the-dark baseball as part of AEP Texas/KTXS Glow in the Dark Logo Ball Giveaway Night, kids can run the bases on Saturday night as well.
