San Angelo Colts News Release
Harlingen, Texas---Between the rain drops the Colts managed to get in a double-header on Thursday night. They would win both games of the double dip on terrific pitching, winning game one 2-1 and game two 3-1 and move into a first place tie with the WhiteWings for the first time this season.
In game one the Colts struck first with an RBI ground out in the second by Danny Hernandez and it was 1-0 Colts. San Angelo led 2-0, after scoring a run in the fifth on an RBI single by Cory Patton. After a brilliant start by Logan Williamson (4-0), Francisco Cruceta (3) came on two get the final four outs to preserve the win as the Colts took the first game 2-1.
In game two the Colts struck first again, on an RBI force out by Daryl Jones in the third to lead 1-0. After the WhiteWings tied in the fifth San Angelo would take care of business in the seventh. The Colts pushed across two on RBI singles by Gaines and Jones to take a 3-1, which would be the final. Chandler Barnard (4-1) gave the Colts their second great start of the day and Chase Vacek (1) closed it out in the ninth as the Colts won 3-1 and sweep the double-header and move into a first place tie with the WhiteWings.
The Colts return home to begin an eight game homes stand on Friday with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m. and the pre-game show beginning at 6:45 p.m. Listen to all the action on 101.9 "The Fire".
