BE HERE EARLY! - Houston Colt .45s Caps go to the first 2,500 fans tonight thanks to Flint Hills Resources. Gates open at 5:30 and first pitch is 7:05. Here's a look at the rest of the homestand.
PREMIERE EVENT - The Open Road, starring Justin Timberlake and Jeff Bridges, opens this weekend at Northshore 8 in Portland. Timberlake portrays a fictional member of the Hooks, Carlton Garrett. Bridges plays his father, a retired, legendary Astros player.Hooks fans wearing team apparel to the Saturday screenings receive half-price tickets. CONQUER THE COAST - Stop by Brewster Street Ice House tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. for the Conquer the Coast Registration Kick-Off Party. This 65-mile ride around the Coastal Bend benefits the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Tarpon Foundation, ALS Foundation and Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Set for September 26, the 6th Annual Conquer the Coast starts and finishes at Whataburger Field. Happy Hour Dos Equis specials are on the menu for Thursday. TWO LEGENDS, ONE DINNER - Tickets to the first Miracle Dinner Under the Lights, featuring Houston Astros icon Craig Biggio and Texas Legend Nolan Ryan are on sale now. The dinner and "The Greatest Sports Auction South Texas Has Ever Seen" are set for Thursday, September 17 at Whataburger Field. Proceeds benefit the Miracle League of Corpus Christi.
