Pittsfield Colonials News Release

RAMAPO, NY - The Pittsfield Colonials saw the Quebec Capitales record 15 hits as the Colonials fell to the Capitales 14-6.

The Capitales got on the board to start the second inning on a controversial play. With the bases loaded and no outs, Jeff Helps grounded a ball back to the mound. The Capitales would turn that into a four run inning to take a 4-0 lead.

Pittsfield would cut the lead to 4-2 in the third when Rafael Cabreja came in to score on a wild pitch and Quentin Davis singled home Jerod Edmondson. The Capitales would extend the lead with four runs in the fourth to push the lead to 8-2.

After Pittsfield scored a run in the fourth on a Peter Fatse single, Quebec countered with a Patrick D'Aoust groundout in the top of the sixth. The Colonials chopped the lead in half in the bottom of the inning when with Johnny Welch on second and Angel Molina on first, Billy Mottram crushed his sixth homerun of the season over the centerfield fence to make it a 9-6 game.
