College Park Skyhawks Announce 'Celebrating Black History' Game on Saturday, February 11

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - The College Park Skyhawks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, announced today that the team will host 'Celebrating Black History' game on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. when they face off against the Long Island Nets. Local artists will have work displayed around the concourse of Gateway Center Arena @ College Park.

"Black History is truly the backbone of our nation's innovation, education, and culture," said Skyhawks Manager of Entertainment Veronica Paul. "We are excited to showcase diversely talented, local African American artists, entrepreneurs and leaders throughout Saturday's game."

Prior to the game, local up-and-coming R&B artist Xavier Lewis will perform the national anthem followed by "Lift Every Voice and Sing", the Black national anthem.

During the game, Skyhawks will honor Tahir Murray, a Southside-raised designer and entrepreneur. Murray is the CEO and founder of Legacy History Pride, a collegiate lifestyle fashion brand that serves the HBCU community.

At halftime, there will be a performance by local artist, Vince Ashton. Ashton, a 29-year-old artist and entrepreneur from Atlanta, will perform a new, original record that reflects and celebrates Black and Atlanta culture.
