(Central Islip, N.Y., Sept. 17, 2011) -The Long Island Ducks defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish 4-1 in waddle-off fashion on Saturday night before a past-capacity crowd of 6,412 at Bethpage Ballpark.

The Ducks plated the first run of the game on a sac fly by Javier Colina in the third inning off Bluefish starter Wardell Starling. The following inning, Bridgeport tied it at one with a run-scoring double play ball off the bat of Danny Putnam against Ducks' starter Bob Zimmermann.

It stayed that way until the final inning, when Dan Lyons walked and Ray Navarrete singled. That set the stage for Colina, who belted a three-run walk-off home run to left off Bluefish reliever Hector Carrasco.

Both starters did not factor into the decision but pitched superbly. Zimmermann tossed six innings, allowing just one unearned run on one hit while striking out three. Starling threw seven innings of one-run ball as well, allowing six hits and four walks while striking out seven. Jon Hunton (1-0) got the win in his home debut as a Duck after a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit while striking out two. Carrasco (1-1) took the loss after one and one-thirds innings of relief, allowing three runs on two hits.

Ray Navarrete led the Flock with three hits, while Colina drove in all four runs.
