Colin Jacobs Heads to Rochester; Jackals Add Ladd

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that forward Colin Jacobs has been reassigned by Buffalo to Rochester. Additionally, the Jackals have signed forward Garrett Ladd to a Standard Player Contract.
Jacobs, 22, heads to Rochester for the first time this season. The Coppell, Texas native currently ranks second on the Jackals with 16 points and is tied for the team-lead with 11 assists. Jacobs also sits second with 47 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating. In 82 career ECHL games with Elmira, Jacobs has recorded 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists) and 191 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1 200-pound forward has also accrued seven points and 48 penalty minutes in 44 AHL games, all with Rochester. Jacobs was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fourth round (#107 overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Ladd, 26, joins the Jackals after starting the season with the Adirondack Thunder. The Fenton, Michigan native recorded two points in eight games with the Thunder this season. Last season, following the conclusion of his collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point (NCAA III), Ladd added one goal in four games with the Stockton Thunder. Ladd began his collegiate career at Bemidji State University before transferring to UWSP where he tallied 91 points (37 goals, 54 assists) in 85 games.
