
Cohen And Sottung Named Evansville Otters Players Of The Month

(EVANSVILLE, Ind.) - First baseman Brandon Cohen and relief pitcher Nick Sottung were named Evansville Otters players of the month for June. *
A River Edge, New Jersey native, Cohen hit .276 during the month with eight home runs and 34 runs batted in. The first baseman burst on to the scene in June as he quickly rose to the top of many offensive statistics in the Frontier League. At the end of the month, Cohen was tied for third in home runs while leading all players this season with 36 RBIs. The left-handed batter hit a light-tower on a home run against the River City Rascals and also belted two home runs in a game on June 8th. The player of the month award is the first monthly honor for Cohen this season.
Nick Sottung also receives his first award as the Evansville Otters pitcher of the month for June. The right-handed pitcher from Pulaski, New York recorded a win and three saves this month with an earned run average of 0.77 . During the month, Sottung became one of the top relievers in the Otters bullpen with his reliable mix of pitches and command. The closer struck out 16 batters in his 12 2/3 innings including a game against the Florence Freedom on June 25th where the right-hander struck out six batters during a two inning save.
