Coastal Bend guarantees series win

May 27, 2006 - American Association (AA) - Coastal Bend Aviators News Release

ROBSTOWN, TEXAS - The Coastal Bend Aviators will bring out the brooms for Game Three on Sunday night against the Diablos as they win the second game 6-2 and will try to complete the sweep tomorrow night before heading out Shreveport.

The Defensive Player of the Game was awarded to Pedro Flores with a stellar piching performance in his first win of the season (1-0). Flores went seven strong innings allowing four hits, and one run. The sole run was scored in the first following an error making it unearned, as Flores impressively retired the last twelve hitters he faced consecutively.

The offensive production was led by Brian Fryer. A testament of wills, as he is yet to return at one hundred percent after nursing a hamstring pull, Fryer hit a two run homer in the fourth and a RBI single in the second. Hands down Fryer earns the OPG.

Coastal Bend improves to 11-5 and continues the early season march to a post season appearance.
