Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
Lumpy's Bar and Grill was the site for Week 2 of the Quad City Steamwheelers weekly radio show, "The Coaches Show," on Sports Radio KFXN AM 1230, and Week 2 was just as good as Week 1.
The "Voice of the Deuce" and host of the show Jim Albracht started the show off with Media Relations Manager Ryan Holtmann to open things up. After the conclusion of the first segment, head coach Rich Ingold, QB Tony Zimmerman and back-up QB Ronnie Gordon arrived at Lumpy's after battling the bridge traffic.
Ingold and Albracht discussed last weeks game vs. Green Bay and looked ahead to this weeks game with Louisville. With a few laughs thrown in the middle.
Zimmerman then stepped into something that was a little more easy than being a quaterback in the arena league, he stepped into a headset and a radio show. Zimmerman talked about his pace to break league passing records and all the rushing touchdowns that he has rushed for so far this season. Zimmerman has rushed for at least one touchdown in all but one game (Wichita) and has ten on the season.
After Zimmerman finished it was up to Gordon to finish the show up. Gordon talked about his mentality and what it is like playing behind Zimmerman. There were also a few laughs when Albracht brought up Gordon's successful rush for a two-point conversion this past weekend as well.
The weekly show will continue it's parade through the Quad City area, with next week's show moving to Tuesday (because of the holiday)and will take place at Old Chicago in Bettendorf, Iowa. The show airs from 7:00-8:00 p.m. The following week, June 2nd will move across the river to The Captain's Table in Moline, Ill. Fans are encouraged to "See it live" and join in the fun at these locations.
