Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release
Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers and the Geisinger Human Motion Institute will join forces to host the first-ever "Jr. Pioneers Football Clinic" prior to this Friday's game against the Greensboro Prowlers.
"We hope to see many future Pioneers at this week's clinic," said team President/General Manager Dave Berryman. "This is going to be a lot of fun for the players, coaches, and especially the kids."
The two-hour clinic will be held at the First Union Arena Friday afternoon from 3:30PM to 5:30PM, and will include a warm-up session and an injury prevention course conducted by the Pioneers sports medicine staff, followed by a workout with the Pioneers coaching staff. The emphasis of the instruction will be on technique, and no hitting will be involved during the clinic.
Every child who participates will receive a game ticket, a special gift from Geisinger, a Pioneers pendant, and a certificate of accomplishment from head coach Dean Cokinos.
Registration for the clinic is $30.00 and is open to children ages six through twelve. Additional tickets for the family and friends of participants are available at a discounted rate. To register a child for the clinic, parents may call the Pioneers administrative office at (570) 270-3848.
Plenty of great seats are still available for this Friday's game. Fans may inquire about ticket availability by contacting the Pioneers ticketing office at (570) 270-5811.
