Ogden Raptors News Release

OGDEN, UT - The Ogden Raptors had multiple chances to take control of their rubber match against the Grand Junction Rockies, but the hits didn't fall.

The Raptors went 0-for-17 with runners in scoring position and stranded 10 in a 6-4 loss to the visiting Rockies. The Rockies took two of three in the series, marking the first series loss for Ogden since they dropped three of four to open the season at Idaho Falls.

The hosts held two leads - an error after a leadoff double scored Jacob Amaya in the first, and after Grand Junction plated a two-out run in the third Amaya scored again on a wild pitch in the home half.

In the fourth, however, the visitors took the lead for good. A single, double and homerun put three on the board for a 4-2 advantage.

After Niko Hulsizer opened the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run, three-straight hits in the fifth put the Rockies up by three.

Ogden loaded the bases with no one out in the fifth. A double play scored one but effectively ended the rally, as the next hitter grounded out.

The Raptors did not have a hit after Dillon Paulson's leadoff single in the fifth.

Ogden welcomes Idaho Falls to town for a two-game series starting Saturday at 7 PM.
