Ontario Clippers News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers (18-10) cruise to a wire-to-wire victory over the Austin Spurs (13-15), 125-111, on Wednesday night. The win clinches a playoff berth for the Clippers, while moving them into the second playoff position in the Western Conference with six games remaining on their calendar.
Keaton Wallace led all scorers with 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field while Shevon Thompson continued to be a double-double machine, scoring 18 points and pulling down 15 boards.
The Spurs were led by Davontae Cacok's 16 points and eight rebounds.
The game wasn't much of a contest, though the Spurs were very much in it after the opening frame, down only two. However, the Clippers rode a hot second quarter, where they shot 16-for-23 from the field (69.6 percent) and expanded their advantage to 18 heading into the break. They would lead by as much as 25 in the game.
Up next, ACC hosts the Salt Lake City Stars in the tail-end of a back-to-back tomorrow night for their final home regular season game. The ballgame tips off at 7 p.m. PT inside the Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif.
