Ontario Clippers News Release

Orlando, FL - The Agua Caliente Clippers (1-1) overcome a 20-point deficit to defeat the Iowa Wolves (0-2), 96-94, for their first win of the 2021 campaign. Canyon Berry's game-winning three-point attempt fell short as time expired.

Agua Caliente struggled out of the gate and trailed the Wolves by as much as 20 in the first half. Iowa shot an efficient 51.2 percent (22-for-43) from the field on their way to a 60-47 lead at the half. The Wolves quickly cooled down in the third quarter, hitting only four of their 18 shot attempts (22.2 percent) and the Clippers began to claw their way back. After outscoring Iowa 13-four to open the final quarter, back-to-back three-pointers by Tyrone Wallace and Donte Grantham gave the Clippers their first lead since early in the first and they didn't look back.

Two-way player Amir Coffey led the Clippers in scoring with 20 points on eight-of-20 shooting from the field. Emanuel Terry collected a game-high 15 rebounds and narrowly missed recording his second consecutive double-double with nine points. James Palmer Jr., Tyrone Wallce, and Ky Bowman each contributed 15 points apiece to Clippers' victory.

The Wolves' Tyler Cook recorded his second-straight double-double, recording a game-high 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Allonzo Trier added 18 points and seven rebounds.

The Clippers look to make it two-straight as they return to action on Sunday, February 14 for a Valentine's Day matchup against the Delware Blue Coats. This will be the second meeting ever between the two teams, with Delware taking the first in 2018. The ballgame tips-off at 12:00 p.m. PT inside the AdventHealth Arena near Orlando, FL and can be viewed on ESPN+.
