Austin Spurs Acquire Malik Pope

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Spurs today announced that they have acquired forward Malik Pope from the available pool of G League players already in Orlando.

Pope spent last season playing for the RoStock Seawolves of the German ProA league, where he averaged 7.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 21 minutes per game. In the 2018-19 season, he played for the Greensboro Swarm, putting up 6.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 16 minutes per game.

As a senior at San Diego State, he was named to the Mountain West All-Conference Second Team. He averaged 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 22 minutes per game for the Aztecs from 2014-18.

Pope will wear No. 1 for Austin.

In a related move, the team has waived David Kramer.
