January 9, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (12-10) could not complete their comeback attempt as they fall to the Sioux Falls Skyforce (17-9), 109-100, on Tuesday night for their first loss of 2019.
The Clippers trailed early, falling victim to a hot Skyforce team that shot 70 percent from the field in the first quarter. Sioux Falls led by as much as 24 in the first half and took a 17 point lead into the break. The Clippers rallied back in the second half, trimming the deficit to as little as four early in the final frame, but failed to get any closer.
Two-way guard Duncan Robinson led the way for the Skyforce, registering 17 first half points and finishing with a game-high 26 on 9-of-16 shooting from the field.
One game since his grabbing a G League record 31 rebounds and the first 20-30 game in G League history, Clippers center Angel Delgado recorded 23 points and 21 rebounds for his fourth 20 rebound game and second 20-20 game of the season.
Agua Caliente was without its top two scorers with Johnathan Motley being recalled by the LA Clippers last week and assignee Jerome Robinson inactive due to illness.
Up next for the Clippers is a short two-game road trip where they will travel east to face the Memphis Hustle on Friday, January 11. The game is slated to tip off at 4 p.m. (PST) inside the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi.
