
Clingstones Close out Strong Series with 3-0 Shutout over Rocket City

COLUMBUS, GA., - Brett Sears shined with 6.0 scoreless innings on another Sunday afternoon to send the Columbus Clingstones (19-20, 45-60) to a 3-0 win over the Rocket City Trash Pandas (12-27, 36-71) at Synovus Park. Columbus won the series 5-1.
Decisive Plays: Columbus opened the scoring on a sacrifice fly from Geraldo Quintero in the fourth inning and added to the lead with an RBI single from Dylan Shockley. Sears navigated his only stretch of minor trouble in the sixth inning by retiring three batters in a row after a leadoff single and a hit batter. An RBI single from Kevin Kilpatrick Jr. added to the lead in the bottom of the sixth.
Key Contributors: Quintero (1-for-3, RBI), Shockley (1-for-3, RBI), and Kilpatrick Jr. (2-for-3, RBI) led Columbus on offense while Sears (6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 SO) was magnificent on Sunday. For Rocket City, only David Calabrese, Arol Vera, and Mac McCroskey tallied hits.
Notable: Sears has picked up each of his five Double-A wins in Sunday starts. Kilpatrick Jr. extended his team-best on-base streak to 17 games. Columbus is 5-2 in Sunday games since July 1.
