
Clevenger Promoted To Triple-A Iowa Thursday

KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announced today that C Steve Clevenger has been promoted to the Triple-A Iowa Cubs. No corresponding moves have been made at this time.
The Smokies active roster currently sits at 23 players.
Clevenger, 25, heads to Iowa for the second time this season, having played in 14 games with the "I-Cubs" in May. In 74 games with the Smokies, he held a .278 (67-for-241) batting average with 19 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 29 RBI. Clevenger has been named to the Southern League Mid-Season All-Star Team during both the 2010 and 2011 seasons. The Baltimore, Md. native was selected by the Cubs in the seventh round of the 2006 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
