
Clayton Tabbed Player of Week

WICHITA, KS- The Central Hockey League today named Thunder center Travis Clayton the CHL's Player of the Week.
A 26-year-old native of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Clayton recorded four goals and six points in three games last week. He started the week notching his first professional regular season hat trick in a 5-2 victory over Fort Worth on Wednesday. Clayton, who was +6 for the week, had a goal, an assist and added a shootout goal in Wichita's 4-3 victory at Indianapolis on Saturday.
In 36 games, Clayton leads the Thunder with 21 goals, 31 assists, 52 points and a plus/minus rating of +11. He is also Wichita's all-time leading scorer, with 421 points. Clayton, along with defenseman Vladimir Hartinger, will represent the Northern Conference in the 2003 Dodge CHL All-Star Game in Oklahoma City this Thursday. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
The Thunder and new head coach Derek Laxdal return to action this weekend at Oklahoma City on Friday and Tulsa on Saturday. Both games begin at 7:35 p.m. and will be carried on 1360 AM KAHS.
