Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

SALISBURY, Md. - The BlueClaws scored an unearned run off Delmarva Shorebirds top-prospect Dylan Bundy, but it was two runs in the 6th inning that propelled Lakewood to a 4-1 victory Monday night.

The BlueClaws scored their four runs on a balk, passed ball and two wild pitches, but they started their seven-game road trip with a well-pitched victory at Purdue Stadium.

Lakewood's starting pitcher Colin Kleven became the second BlueClaw to throw seven innings in a start this season. He allowed one unearned run in the 1st inning when Glynn Davis scored on a passed ball by Logan Moore. Kleven scattered four hits and three walks in the outing. He ended his outing with a flourish when he struck out the final three batters he faced in the 7th inning.

Colton Murray entered for Lakewood in the 8th inning and pitched two shutout innings with three strikeouts to record his first professional save. With two outs and the bases empty in the 9th inning he allowed a single and walked a batter to bring the potential tying run to the plate, but he struck out Connor Narron looking to end the ballgame.

Delmarva's starting pitcher, Bundy, was the 4th overall selection in the 2011 MLB Draft and had allowed one earned run in 20.0 innings entering the ballgame. The BlueClaws scored one run in five innings off Bundy who earned a no-decision and has not allowed an earned run in 25.0 innings with the Shorebirds.

Lino Martinez (2-2, 6.19) will start for the BlueClaws against Delmarva's Tim Berry (1-4, 3.68) in Game 3 of the three-game series at Purdue Stadium. First pitch for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
