CHARLESTON, W.V. - A pair of unearned runs cost the BlueClaws in their series-opening, 2-0 loss to West Virginia Friday night.

A run in the 1st inning was aided by a passed ball early in the inning, and a run in the 8th inning for the Power came home on a fielding error by Alejandro Villalobos for the second run of the ballgame.

Lakewood loses despite outhitting West Virginia 8-6.Miguel Alvaerz and Villalobos both went 2-for-4 for the 'Claws, but neither performance led to any runs in a potential comeback attempt by Lakewood.

As a team, the BlueClaws have gone 4-3 in their last seven games despite allowing just five earned runs- 15 total- over that time (61.0 IP, 0.74 ERA).

Lakewood will send Colin Kleven (6-7, 4.40) to the mound against Porferio Lopez (1-2, 8.31) with Kleven looking to match his eight-inning, no-run gem from Monday night at Delmarva.
