FRISCO, TEXAS- The night after the 'Riders clinched the first half South Division title, the Hooks bounced back, defeating the RoughRiders 5-0 on Saturday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. In the game Corpus pitcher Jose Cisnero (4-6) threw his first career complete game shutout.

Cisnero and Riders' starter Chad Bell (2-1) faced the minimum through the first inning, while both teams failed to convert on scoring chances in the second and the third.

However in the fourth, the Hooks offense came to life. Drew Locke singled up the middle and set the stage for Kody Hinze who hit a home run to left field putting Corpus Christi up 2-0. Bell struck out Jay Fernandez before allowing a double to Adam Bailey, while two batters later, Jonathan Villar hit another double to put the visitors up by three.

The final two runs of the game came in the ninth inning against Frisco reliever Miguel De Los Santos. Drew Muren led off the inning with a single to left field and then stole second, to advance into scoring position. De Los Santos struck out Villar, but Andy Simunic singled home Muren. On the play, Muren moved up to third, as the throw home went to the backstop. Jose Martinez later added an RBI in the frame to make it 5-0 Hooks.

Cisnero got two outs quickly after picking up a fly out and ground out. An error by shortstop Villar allowed Buchholz to reach first safely, and Chris McGuiness walked to put runners at first and second. In the end though, Cisnero was able to finish off his masterpiece, striking out Ryan Strausborger to end the game.

'Riders starter Chad Bell was tagged with his first loss of the season. He threw four innings, allowing seven hits and three earned runs while walking three and striking out two. Jose Cisnero picked up his fourth win of the season, going the distance for the complete game shutout. On the night, he allowed only two hits, and struck out six.
