 Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones announced their 2009-10 schedule this afternoon. A total of 72 regular season games including 36 at U.S. Bank Arena highlight the slate. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
The Cyclones will open the 2009-10 season at Elmira on Friday, October 16. The home opener at U.S. Bank Arena will come the following Saturday (October 24) when the Wheeling Nailers, who the Cyclones defeated in seven games during the opening round of the 2009 playoffs, will provide the opposition.
Cincinnati, which will play with Kalamazoo, Toledo and Wheeling in the revamped North Division, will play 37 games against these division foes. The Cyclones will play 25 games against the newly formed East Division (Elmira, Johnstown, Reading and Trenton) and the remaining ten contests against the South Division (Charlotte, Florida, Gwinnett and South Carolina).
The Cyclones will host eight games on Friday nights and ten on Saturdays. A total of nine home games will be played in February, while eight tilts at U.S. Bank Arena will occur in December. The squad will head south for a three city, four game, five day trip from March 5-9 (South Carolina, Gwinnett, Charlotte).
The squad will play seven âthree-in-threes' (three games in three days) and the regular season closes with ten games in the campaign's final 17 days of play.
For the first time in regular season play, Cincinnati fans will get a look at the Kelly Cup champion South Carolina Stingrays (January 29 and February 4). The Cyclones will play ten of the eleven American Conference opponents at U.S. Bank Arena and will play nine of those opponents at least twice in the facility. The only scheduling oddities are that Gwinnett will not visit Cincinnati and the Cyclones will not travel to Florida. There is no crossover between and of the American and National Conferences (western half of the league) in the ECHL this season.
Single game tickets will be priced at $24.50 for VIP seating (first row along the glass) and all other seats will be priced at $12 each. Season ticket plans are currently on sale and can be purchased by contacting the Cyclones at 513-421-PUCK, x. 3. Discounts of up to 17 percent over single game ticket prices can be obtained when purchasing full 36 game season tickets. A complete promotional schedule will be released in the weeks ahead by the team.
"We are very excited about the schedule for the 2009-10 season," U.S. Bank Arena and Cyclones Vice President/General Manager Kristin Ropp said. "Attendance picked up after January 1 last season and to have weekend games in six of the final nine weeks of the season is going to give fans a chance to come out and see us down the stretch."
Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. Ticket packages are available for every budget, call the Cyclones at 513-421-PUCK x. 3 for more details. The home season starts on Saturday, October 24 when the Wheeling Nailers come to U.S. Bank Arena.
