Church Night starts busy weekend for Grrrowl
February 22, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Grrrowl News Release
GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that "FFH" will be the featured performers at the Annual Grrrowl Church Night on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the BI-LO Center. WLFJ Radio (89.3 FM / 660 AM) is presenting the concert that will be held on the ice following the Grrrowl home game that evening against the Charlotte Checkers. Also, the GIFT OF LIFE TRUST FUND will be in the concourse at the BI-LO Center to register anyone interested in organ and tissue donation.
For FFH, everything has come together to bring them to this milestone in their journey when their one central passion as a band has never been more clearly defined in their music and their ministry. Their new album sums up their message and their mission in three simple words â "It's Still the Cross". With career sales of more than 1 million, seven No. 1 radio hits, 17 top five singles and multiple Dove nominations, FFH members Jeromy and Jennifer Deibler, Brian Smith and Michael Boggs could easily rest on their laurels and stay safely tucked away in their well-earned place among Christian music's most elite they chose to do so. "Still the Cross" features seven tracks co-produced by Jeromy and the bands long-time producer Scott Williamson, while three cuts were produced by Mark Miller (Casting Crowns and Sawyer Brown).
This will be the first annual "Austin Shealy Memorial Organ Donor Drive" for the Grrrowl. Abby Wallace, Grrrowl Media Relations Assistant, was a donor for Austin in 2002. Unfortunately, Austin passed away of liver failure at the age of 9, but the Grrrowl are working with GLTF to end this type of tragedy. The drive has been scheduled to work with the Gift of Life Foundation (www.giftoflife-sc.org) in their quest to "Increase Organ and Tissue Donation in South Carolina." GLTF is a non-profit educational and charitable organization established in 1996 by the South Carolina General Assembly.
After tonight's road game in Charleston, the Grrrowl will return to the BI-LO Center this weekend to play the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, and the Pee Dee Pride on Saturday. Greenville is 27-20-4 overall, having won 9 of its last 12 games.
