CITY HERE - The Wisconsin Woodchucks fought hard against the Waterloo Bucks, but could not come up with the victory as the Bucks completed the three-game sweep, 8-5.

The Bucks got out to an early lead in the first inning as Thomas Lindauer reached on a single and came around to score on an RBI-double by Joel Hutter.

Woodchuck starter AJ Carman settled down after that and looked very good through the third inning. In the fourth, Carman got Sean Borman to strike out swining with two outs, but the ball got away from catcher Tyler Heineman, allowing Borman to reach base. On the next pitch, Jordan Adams hit a two-run home run to give the Bucks a 3-0 lead.

The ‘Chucks didn't give up, however, as they scored four runs in the fifth inning on five hits, including a double by Kyle DeMerritt and a two-run double by Heineman.

The Bucks answered back with three runs in the fifth of their own on some shaky defense by the Woodchucks. The runs scored on only two hits and chased Carman from the game. The Bucks added onto their lead in the seventh on a two-run home run by Cameron Perkins.

The Woodchucks did score one run in the eighth, but it would not be enough as they fell to the Bucks, 8-5. The Woodchucks fell to 11-17 on the season, while the Bucks advanced to 15-15.

The ‘Chucks will head to La Crosse tomorrow to take on the Loggers at 6:05.
