Madison Capitols News Release
Middleton, WI - On Tuesday, Madison Capitols defenseman, Christian Berger, earned a spot on the USHL All-Academic Team for the 2018-19 campaign.
Berger, 18, played 61 games in his first full season for the Capitols, picking up 11 assists to go along with his eight goals for the year. That is the second most by a defenseman on the team behind Kalle Eriksson.
The Penn State commit is in the process of obtaining his high school diploma from St. Louis University High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Berger will finish high school with a 3.9 GPA.
"Christian is a good defender and player on the ice, but he show everyone that he can shine just as bright off the ice as well," says head coach Garrett Suter. "Penn State isn't an easy school to get into, and Berger's work ethic shows from his on-ice capabilities to his classroom success."
The Capitols continue to prep for the 2019-20 campaign with the USHL Phase I and Phase II drafts set for May 6th and 7th respectively.
