(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos are proud to announce that defensive back Chris Thompson has been named a 2010 CFL All-Star.

Selected by fans, Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) and CFL head coaches, Chris has been named a CFL All-Star for the second time in his four-year CFL career. Ending the 2010 campaign with 43 defensive tackles, three pass knockdowns and one forced fumble, Chris led all Eskimo defenders and sat second overall in the league with seven interceptions; one of which was returned 84 yards for a touchdown. The Louisiana native was named a CFL West Division All-Star last week along with teammate and long-time friend Fred Stamps. Chris was named a 2008 East Division and CFL All-Star while with the Hamilton Tiger Cats.

The FRC voting panel consists of representation from each CFL market and a national chapter. In total, 53 members of the FRC voted for this year's all-stars.

Fans were given the opportunity to have their voice heard through the CFL All-Star Balloting Program presented by The Vancouver Province, Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal, Leader-Post, The StarPhoenix, National Post and the Montreal Gazette. Nearly half a million votes were cast by CFL fans across the country.
