DAYTON, OH - The Dayton Dragons game on Friday, July 30th against the Bowling Green Hot Rods will be televised on WHIO Digital Channel 7.2 (Time Warner Basic Cable Channel 23 and Digital Channel 372). Chris Sexton, former infielder for the Cincinnati Reds and Colorado Rockies, will serve as the guest commentator on the broadcast. Dragons Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Tom Nichols will handle the play-by-play.

Sexton starred at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati before going on to Miami University in Oxford, where is one of only two players in school history to have earned the Mid American Conference Player of the Year award (former Red Sox infielder Tim Naehring is the other). Sexton still holds the Miami record for both single season batting average (.429 in 1993) and career batting average (.382). He played for the Rockies in 1999 and the Reds in 2000. He also spent 10 years in the Minor Leagues, batting a combined .290. He hit over .300 at the Triple-A level in three different seasons.

The Dragons are televising a total of 15 games this season from Fifth Third Field. The games are coordinated by the Dragons in-house production department. Sean Coffman serves as Executive Director of the telecasts. Other guest commentators this season have included former Reds players Bill Doran, Eddie Milner, Tommy Helms, and Doug Bair; hall-of-fame writer Hal McCoy, former Reds executive Grant Griesser, Reds Assistant Director of Media Relations Jamie Ramsey, and WHIO TV Sports Director Mike Hartsock.
