LANSING, Mich. - Gorman Erickson doubled three times and drove in five runs, and the Great Lakes Loons (26-6; 69-32) romped past the Lansing Lugnuts (17-15; 53-48), 13-1, on Thursday night on Jackson Field.

Blake Smith added four hits for the Loons, who scored one run in the first and third innings before blowing the game open with three runs in the fourth, four in the fifth, and three in the sixth.

The rout could have been worse, but Erickson's long drive to right in the eighth inning was ruled merely an RBI double rather than the two-run homer it appeared.

Lansing starter Ryan Tepera (9-5) suffered the loss, serving up five runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks in four innings.

Tepera was succeeded by Scott Gracey, who gave up four runs in just two-thirds of an inning. Aaron Loup was similarly ill-treated, allowing three runs on four hits in an inning and a third. Brian Slover pitched the final three innings with much more success, reached for only one run.

Edwin Contreras (3-0) scattered nine hits and two walks in 5 2/3 innings to pick up the win, allowing only Eric Eiland's first inning RBI single. J.B. Paxson recorded the final 10 outs in perfect order for his first save of the year.

In the loss for Lansing, both Markus Brisker and Sean Ochinko collected a pair of singles.

The Lugnuts looked to avert the three-game sweep on Ladies Night at 7:05 p.m. Friday, featuring post-game LAFCU Fireworks. Nuts right-hander Ryan Shopshire (7-8, 5.10) heads to the mound against Loons lefty Ryan Christenson (0-0, 0.00).
