
Kernels Rally To Beat Clinton, 5-3

Terrell Alliman delivered a two run single in the top of the 9th inning to give the Kernels a 5-3 win over the Clinton LumberKings at Alliant Energy Field in Clinton on Wednesday. Justin Bass tied the game earlier in the inning with an RBI double to score Richard Cates.
Tyler Kehrer delivered a quality start for the Kernels, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out six over 7 IP with no walks. Mike Kenney (3-2) picked up the win in relief and Johnny Hellweg retired the LumberKings in order in the ninth for his 11th save of the year.
Every Kernels starter had at least one hit. Jeremy Cruz was 2-4 with a double and RBI and Drew Beuerlein went 1-3 with a home run. Daniel Carroll went 2-4 for Clinton with a triple, HR and 2 RBI and Kalian Sams was 2-3. Clinton reliever Brandon Josselyn (2-3) took the loss, allowing three runs on four hits over 0.1 IP.
