Chris MacKinnon Tallies Four Points En-route to 6-2 Victory Over Otters

The Kitchener Rangers opened the weekend with a 6-2 win over the visiting Erie Otters.

After a blank first period Zack Torquato opened up scoring at the 13:03 mark in the second to put the Otters up 1-0.

The Rangers tied the game 1-1 after Chris MacKinnon beat Jaroslav Janus high to the glove side. Steve Lock gave Kitchener a one goal lead to end scoring at the 16:26 mark of the period. MacKinnon scored his second goal of the game at the 0:35 mark in the third period to put the Rangers up 3-1. Lock followed up with his second of the game after tapping in a pass from Jeff Skinner at the 2:42 mark. Scott Timmins found the back of the Otters empty net after Janus lost the Rangers puck at the 3:23 mark to make it 5-1 Kitchener.

Sean Jones replied for Erie with a goal at 4:16. Timmins closed out scoring in the game after he tipped in an Alex Dzielski slap shot at 18:18.

The Kitchener Rangers return to action tomorrow when they honour Al MacInnis prior to the game against the Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday, November 22 (2:00pm) at The Aud.

MacInnis' banner will join fellow Rangers alumni Scott Stevens, Paul Coffey, Larry Robinson and Bill Barber on display permanently in The Aud.
