Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The two-time defending CHL champion Memphis RiverKings are very happy to announce that veteran centerman Kahlil Thomas has been reassigned to the club after an extended stint in St. John's of the AHL.

Thomas, who was an integral part of the back-to-back championships the RiverKings won the previous two seasons, returns to the club after playing several games for former Memphis coach Doug Shedden with the Maple Leafs.

The RiverKings will have Thomas in action starting with tonight's contest against the Fort Worth Brahmas.

To make room on the roster for Thomas's return, RiverKings forward / defenseman Scott Lega was traded to the San Angelo Saints for future considerations.

The RiverKings enter tonight's contest with Fort Worth on top of the Northeast Division, at 6-1-0. Memphis's 12 points give them a five point lead over second-place Indianapolis.

Game time is set for 7:30 pm CST. All RiverKings radio broadcasts are available on Easy 680 WJCE in Memphis, and on the world wide web at www.sportsjuice.com.

The RiverKings will next be in action at home this Thursday, November 6, as they battle with the Oklahoma City Blazers. For ticket information, call the RiverKings offices at 662-342-1755.

Also a note: Forward Brian Tucker served game one of a two-game suspension last night. The suspension was for a slew-footing violation committed in the contest this past Saturday versus the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
