CHICAGO (Thursday, July 10, 2014) - Chivas USA midfielder Marco Delgado has been called up to the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team to compete in the 2014 NTC Invitational Tournament that will take place at U.S. Soccer's National Training Center in Carson, Calif. from July 14-18, the Federation announced today. The Red-and-White Homegrown product will join the national squad immediately after the Goats visit Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday and will report back with the club prior to their road match at D.C. United on July 20.
Led by U.S. U-20 MNT Coach Tab Ramos, Delgado and the national squad will kick off their participation in the NTC Invitational by facing Chile on July 14 and Bermuda on July 16. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. (PT) and will be held at the StubHub Center's Mooch Myernick Field. The U.S. will conclude their participation in the tournament against Australia on July 18, a match that will be broadcast live on ussoccer.com starting at 7 p.m. (PT).
Delgado was most recently called in to the U-20 National Team in January for a domestic training camp in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. Currently in his fourth call-up with the U-20s, the 19-year-old Glendora native first joined Ramos and his group for an international training camp in Verona, Italy in November of 2013, as the national squad was being assembled for the first cycle.
After the conclusion of the NTC Invitational, Ramos and his staff will look to assemble the team again in early September for an international training camp.
